I took my cat, Emma, to work yesterday. She had a growth in her mouth that was interfering with eating and drinking, and her fur was so matted that she needed a shavedown.
Dr S ended up pulling three teeth- two fell out practically on their own and the third was where the growth was. The growth seemed to be fleshy tissue that just erupted around the bad tooth. Emma even got stitches!
The shavedown took forever, and I even missed a couple of spots, but for my first shavedown, I think I did pretty well. She looks pitiful now, all skinny except her giant head. She still wobbles around like she's drunk, but she's got her wits enough around her to hiss at everything like she normally does. But I think she feels better than she has in a long time.
